Slowly away, held up in rear, pushed along over 1f out, minor headway inside final furlong, never dangerous (jockey said, regarding running and riding, her instructions were to jump out, get the gelding to settle and do her best thereafter. Bond explained that the gelding had been awkward leaving the stalls and missed the break, which was not uncommon for this horse. Bond indicated that this fact enabled her to cross over and find the rail very quickly from stall 13. Bond added the early pace was fast and the gelding got a long way back, but she was able to make ground though along the inside down the back straight and get more competitive. Bond further added that leaving the back straight she elected to follow the inside rail and became trapped behind a weakening Colleague, unplaced, and inside Paddyplex, placed seventh, which left her held up and unable to improve her position. Once able to secure clear running from approaching the home turn, Bond placed the gelding under full pressure and considered the gelding made solid headway through to the line. Adding that entering the back straight she had been able to save ground through on the inside. The trainer's rep confirmed the instructions, and that they had essentially been carried out, but did accept that the gelding would have finished much closer had he not encountered a troubled passage at a crucial stage of the race. Bond also submitted that she was inexperienced with this being only her 18th race ride and many of those have been confined to apprentice only races) (op 18/1)
Slowly away, towards rear, ridden over 2f out, never on terms (jockey said gelding had changed its leads on several occasions throughout the race) (op 33/1)
