Chased leaders, ridden and outpaced over 3f out, well beaten from 2f out (jockey said gelding was restless in the stalls and banged its head; vet reported that a post-race examination found a small wound to the gelding's head, but advised that this was of no significance) (op 11/4 and tchd 3/1)

Dwelt start, in rear, nudged along over 3f out, never on terms (jockey said, regarding running and riding, that his instructions were to get the colt to jump smartly then to ride his race as he found it as the colt was having his first run. However, the colt was slowly away, which he had reported at Scales, and ran green, lugging in behind horses into the kickback and as a result was never going forward. It wasn't until approximately one furlong out he was able to straighten the colt and out of the kickback that he could get him on an even keel but, even having done so, was only passing tiring horses; vet reported that a post-race examination of the colt, during routine testing, failed to reveal any abnormalities) (op 17/2)
