The rider and the trainer's rep were interviewed and shown recordings of the race. The Vet reported that an initial post-race examination of the gelding failed to reveal any abnormalities, but further reported that a post-race examination of the gelding approximately half an hour after the race, revealed he had a heart murmur. The rider stated his instructions were to take his time and ride the gelding to get the trip as it was the gelding's first run for them over 1m2f. He added that having been given a bad draw he felt he had no option but to drop the gelding in, after which he then ran keenly at the rear of the field. Keenan added that the gelding was denied a clear run rounding the final bend, a fact which he had reported at scales. Keenan also added that he had not wanted to risk running four wide on the bend and therefore had hoped to be able to improve his position between horses. He continued that having got a clear run in the home straight the gelding ran on well. The trainer's rep stated that she was satisfied with the ride and that it accorded with the instructions given.
