Behind and detached, plenty to do halfway, shaken up and headway after 3 out, chased (clear) winner between last 2, no impression (jockey said regarding running and riding that his instructions were to drop the gelding out last and get him settled as he had shown a tendency to be very keen in the past. He added that the gelding initially ran freely, a fact which he reported at scales, but had then switched off on the heavy ground. He further added that he became more detached than he would have liked, but explained that that he didnt want to set the gelding alight too soon as he wanted to be passing horses and staying on at the end of the race. The trainer stated that she was satisfied the ride accorded with the instructions given and added that she felt the gelding had obtained its best possible placing.) (tchd 50/1)
