Loaded without rider, tracked leaders far side, took closer order going well in 2nd 1 1/2f out, led entering final furlong and soon ridden, kept on well near finish where pressed and eased close home, comfortably (trainer said, regarding the improved form shown, that his charge can be a difficult sort despite having plenty of ability and expressed his disappointment with the performance of the mare at Navan when tiring in the closing stages. Trainer could offer no reason for this poor run other than it may have come too soon following her withdrawal at Naas a week earlier, when the mare got upset in the stalls. Trainer added that following a break, he ran the mare without a tongue-tie today but was unsure if this was a contributing factor, but felt the first time application of a rubber bit may have helped to bring about the improved form shown. Jockey confirmed the characteristics of the mare and stated that his mount had got tired underneath him in the closing stages at Navan and had no more to give) (original market op 16/1 new market tchd 11/1)
