| Towards rear, ridden and headway from 2 out, 10th at last, ran on well on rail run-in, switched late, not trouble winner (jockey said, regarding running and riding, his instructions were to drop the mare in, get her settled, creep into the race and finish as best as he could; he said he jumped off towards the rear of the field, but was nearly brought down at the first hurdle and his mount had to step over a faller; that resulted in him being further back than he would have wished; he added the mare settled well and travelled fine off what he felt was a fast enough pace on soft ground and the standard of horse in the race; he always felt he was going well enough to win or be placed as he believed those in front would stop on the uphill finish; he said his mount stayed on past tired horses but the winner had got first run on him and having given the mare a few smacks, he rode her out hands and heels in the finish. The trainer confirmed these instructions, adding the mare was way too keen on her first start and the plan was to get her settled first and foremost so that she could see out the trip and get home; he added he was satisfied with the ride and felt the mare had obtained her best finishing position.)
