Chased leaders, slight mistake in 4th at 5th, going well in close 3rd before straight and improved to lead before 2 out where bad mistake, ridden clear before last, all out near finish where strongly pressed, just held on (jockey said gelding jumped poorly throughout) (op 4/5 tchd Evs)
Held up in touch, 6th halfway, took closer order in 5th after 5th, driven in 4th before 2 out and progress into 2nd at last, ran on well under pressure run-in to strongly press winner close home, just failed (jockey said, regarding running and riding, his instructions were to travel in the first six or seven down the inside and don't get to the front too soon. the gelding jumped well, but could of come down the hill a little better. he winged the last and was all out to the line. regarding the whip use, he used it prior to the last but not after as the gelding was trying his best. trainer confirmed the instructions given and stated his horses had not been running well of late but that the gelding was fit and well today) (op 20/1)
Led briefly until headed from 1st, 3rd halfway, improved to lead narrowly after 3 out, soon joined and headed, jumped big in 3rd 2 out and ridden, no impression on leaders before last, kept on same pace (op 16/1 tchd 14/1)
Held up in touch, going well in 8th after 3 out, took closer order before next, switched right under hands and heels in 5th after 2 out, went 4th run-in where ridden briefly, never troubled leaders (op 14/1 tchd 16/1)
Chased leaders, 7th after 3 out, ridden in 6th and no impression on leaders after 2 out, kept on run-in (jockey said gelding didn't handle the hill but stayed on well) (op 16/1)
Chased leaders, jumped left 2nd and at times after, 2nd halfway, disputed and led narrowly after 3 out, ridden and headed before next, soon no impression on winner and weakened from before last (op 7/2)
