Dwelt start, held up in last, nudged along from over 1f out, some headway inside final furlong, eyecatcher (inquiry into running and riding; jockey said instructions were to expect filly to be slowly away as she had been on her two previous runs, but get a nice lead and ride her to obtain best possible placing; she said that filly had been slowly away so she elected to allow filly to find her feet and drop down closer to rail; she added that approaching 4f marker, she was mindful of a rival racing greenly in advance of her mount and had not wanted to meet with any interference; she said that after riding filly along between 4f and 3f, filly had recovered some of the ground surrendered early on and tacked on to backmarkers; from this point jockey said that she was not overly forceful on filly, largely due to the fact her mount hung right-handed turning in, a fact that she reported at scales and then continued to do so in home straight to such an extent that she felt it safest to give filly a hands and heels ride and had been unable to exhibit a greater degree of vigour due to needing increased pressure on the left-rein in order to keep filly straight; she further stated that she had recommended to trainer that filly would benefit from a step up in trip; trainer's rep confirmed instructions; however, she indicated she was surprised that filly had got so far back through early stages and whilst acknowledging that filly was hanging right, she considered jockey could conceivably have been more positive and ridden with greater purpose at stages) (op 40/1)
