Wednesday's EFL predictions

Burton’s season went from bad to worse at the weekend as they were dumped out of the FA Cup by National League side Tamworth.

The Brewers will be eager to make amends on their League One trip to Peterborough on Wednesday, but ten defeats from 16 league games inspires little confidence that Albion can.

Only highflying Wycombe (36) had scored more League One goals than Peterborough (32) heading into the midweek fixtures but defensive deficiencies continue to hold Posh back – their total of 29 goals conceded is the same as Burton.

Peterborough's last five victories in all competitions have been by 5-1, 4-2, 4-1, 6-1 and 4-3 scorelines and another high-scoring success may be on the cards at London Road.

There are four other EFL fixtures on Wednesday, including a top-of-the-table clash between Birmingham and Stockport in League One.
