Championship title favourites Leeds are starting to hit their straps but they won’t be taking the challenge of Bristol City lightly and will need to work hard for maximum points.

Daniel Farke’s side have taken 14 points from six league games since suffering a 1-0 defeat at home to Burnley, leaving them only three points behind Sunderland at the summit.

However, Bristol City have found some consistency themselves, going six games unbeaten, and they are extremely tough opposition to overcome at their beloved Ashton Gate.

The Robins are unbeaten in ten Championship clashes at their Bristol base, and last season they defeated promoted pair Leicester and Southampton, suggesting that Leeds will need to bring their A-game.

Both of United's Championship wins over Bristol City last season were recorded by a single goal and it may be another hard-fought victory for them, emulating Tuesday’s 2-1 success at home to Watford.

The other standout fixture from Saturday’s sprinkling of matches shown live on Sky Sports+ at 12.30pm sees League One’s big spenders Birmingham head to fellow highflyers Mansfield.

The Blues invested heavily over the summer in a bid to return to the Championship at the first attempt and it already seems to be paying dividends, with them having won nine of their opening 11 games to surge four points clear at the top.

Mansfield sit fourth in League One with victories recorded in six of their last seven matches, but they’ve had an extremely soft schedule with 16th-placed Blackpool their highest-ranked victim in that period.
