Burnley are firmly in the Championship promotion hunt but their matches have not exactly been entertaining over recent weeks, with just two goals – one for and one against – being registered across their last four games.

Scott Parker's side needed a 94th-minute penalty from Jay Rodriguez to see off Swansea before the international break, while their last goal from open play came against Hull on October 23.

Scoring goals may be a problem, but the Clarets also boast the best defence in the division, conceding just six times.

Unsurprisingly, that has contributed to seven of their last nine matches featuring a maximum of one goal and it could be a similar story when they visit hard-to-beat Bristol City, who have lost just one of their last ten fixtures.

That run includes a 0-0 draw at Ashton Gate against Burnley's promotion rivals Leeds, and the Robins could adopt a similar defensive display on Saturday. Anyone searching for a lunchtime feast of goals may be left disappointed.

Notts County's seven-match unbeaten run in all competitions ended at Crewe last time out, but they can return to winning ways on home soil while keeping a clean sheet against poor-travelling Newport in League Two.

The Magpies have won four on the bounce at home across all competitions, with three of those victories coming to nil, while Newport have lost ten of their last 12 away matches in League Two, a run that stretches back to March.

Newport have lost to nil at Harrogate, Barrow and Swindon already this season and County should be able to add their name to that list.
