Today he instructed the rider to ride the animal close to the pace, make the best of his way home and do not be excessive with the whip as this animal was a bridle horse. He was of the opinion that his animal jumped moderately today and gave a heave after the turn into the straight before finishing in his best possible placing; jockey said that he jumped off a bit handier than expected and again today his mount jumped poorly. He added that the animal emptied from before the turn into the straight and from that point he held him together for one final attempt to pass the fourth placed horse but was unable to do so from the final hurdle. He expressed an opinion that apart from the first three placed horses that this race was possibly a weak contest and his own mount did his best when on the bridle)
