Slowly away, took keen hold, towards rear, raced wide home turn, good headway final furlong, went second inside final 110yds, ran on well, just failed (op 6/4)
Towards rear, not clear run and switched right inside final furlong, ran on well final 110yds, not reach leaders, eyecatcher (jockey was asked to explain his riding in home straight; jockey said his instructions were to switch filly off as she had been keen previously and to make sure she was finding the line and doing her best work late on; he explained that filly jumped well enough, but he restrained and allowed filly to find her feet; however due to the muddling pace she had taken a strong hold with him early on; he continued by saying that towards the end of back straight, he was crowded for room to the inside of Sibyl Charm, which had leant on his mount; jockey added that field was very congested approaching home turn and as pace increased he was struggling to get a tow forward into race as it developed; in explaining his riding in home straight, jockey said she was a big filly returning from injury, on this occasion, with his focus on keeping her balanced and for this reason he had not fully committed to take a narrowing run to the inside of Sibyl Charm which was edging left-handed under a right-handed drive approaching and passing 1f marker; he further added that once eventually obtaining clear running, having switched right-handed around heels of Sibyl Charm, his mount was giving everything under a hands and heels effort and he saw no reason to resort to whip at this late stage and considered filly had obtained best possible placing in the circumstances; his explanations were noted; vet had nothing to report) (op 10/1)
