Tracked leader, close up halfway, led well over 2f out, joined and ridden well over 1f out, driven inside final furlong, kept on gamely towards finish (op 5/6)
Tracked leaders, smooth headway over 2f out, challenged on bit well over 1f out, shaken up well inside final furlong, soon ridden and not quicken (jockey said, regarding running and riding, that his orders were to take a sit behind the leaders, get a tow into the race and make every endeavour to win, approaching 2f out he gave it a flick down the shoulder with his whip to get upsides Wu Zetian who he considered to be his main danger, from that point to 1/2f mark, it travelled like the winner and still had hold ot its head and was always on terms, adding that it is clearly not straightforward and, when eventually asking for maximum effort near the 1/2f mark it curled up underneath him and appeared reluctant to go through with its efforts.) (op 2/1)
