Raced towards rear, last with a circuit to race, progress after 2 out, kept on same pace into moderate 7th before last, never on terms (enq into running and riding of the gelding, jockey stated that he was instructed to ride the gelding as he thought best. On his last run in Ballinrobe, the gelding ran free and in the jockey's opinion it was best to drop him in at the rear, get his jumping settled and finish in the best possible position. Jockey stated that his mount ran free early on, settled after the third hurdle, got a good run on the final circuit however blew up turning into the bend and if he had been pushed on sooner he may not have finished as close as he did. Jockey stated that he normally rides winners from off the pace and he was satisfied that he gave his mount a strong ride and finished in the best possible position. Trainer confirmed the instructions given to the jockey and added that his charge would prefer a longer trip, possibly 2 1/2 miles, and is a difficult horse to train)
