On toes beforehand and reluctant to line up, lost ground start and detached in rear, jumped big 1st, trailing when pulled up before 6th (jockey said, regarding running and riding, that his orders were to keep the gelding in amongst the others at the start to ensure it would jump off, having circled with the rest, it started pulling the reins out of his hands and hung out to the far rail. Try as he might he couldn't get it back to the field and had to be led in alone, as soon as the starter let them go it continued to plunge its head and pull the reins out of his hands but would not travel, raced reluctantly and approaching the turn into the home straight would not turn right and ran towards the rail and had to pull up.)
