Chased leaders, 5th before 7th, going well in 4th after 4 out and kept to far side after next where headway, on terms 2 out and soon led, extended advantage before last and kept on well run-in, comfortably (trainer said regarding apparent improvement in form that that his charge was making his reappearance at Punchestown on the 14th January after a seven month absence when running in his first chase. He expressed his disappointment with that run but noted that the animal had a good blow post race. He added that he expected a good performance at Thurles on the 23rd February but his charge was not as straight as he had thought. He felt that he had improved for that run and considered that his class got him through todays testing conditions. ) (op 6/1 tchd 5/1)
