Tracked leader in 2nd, soon 3rd, pushed along after 3 out and soon weakened, eased from next, lame (jockey said that his mount pulled up lame) (op 5/1)
Raced towards rear for most, kept on from before 2 out, never on terms (jockey said regarding running and riding that his instructions were to take his time, fill his mount with confidence as she had burst blood vessels previously. In the race he travelled well, his mount leaned in at times and he was holding her together. He didn't want to let her down. She can get lit up. He wanted to get her relaxed so she wouldn't burst blood vessels again. She settled well. Latched on at times. Jumped well in a race he felt was run at a good even gallop. She came under pressure for a few strides entering the back straight. She flattened out down the back and he stated that he held her together to see out her race. She started to lean-in entering the straight and at this stage he stated that he held her together and popped the last safely; trainer's rep said stated that the mare burst blood vessels at Ballinrobe and Paul was made aware of that. That was at the forefront of the instructions given. The horse was suspended from running for 42 days.)
