| Never better than mid-division ( jockey said, regarding running and riding, that his instructions were to drop his mount out and try to get it to finish out his race, something it failed to do last time out at Limerick when it was ridden handily; he said he got his mount to settle and it travelled well down the back straight; he tried to get it to run on for him in home straight but horse threw its head up in his face when he asked it to quicken; he said it is ungenuine and resents being hit with the whip so he just tried to coax it home as best as he could without resorting to the whip; trainer confirmed instructions and explained it has lots of ability but is ungenuine; he tried blinkers on it last time but it resented them and ran better today with cheekpieces applied; in addition he said it jumped better today over this trip; he added that the aim was to win a race with the horse over a trip of around 2m 6f on goodish ground and have it ridden a bit more prominently than today. ) (op 12/1) | ||||||||||
