Held up in rear, steady headway on outer when left in fourth 2 out, shaken up and outpaced before last, beaten run-in (jockey said, regarding running and riding, that his instructions were to take his time early on, get his mount settled and jumping and to do the best he could. He said that his mount is a very slow and deliberate jumper which cost him ground throughout, in what he felt was a very fast race. He concluded by stating that his mount was having its first run in a handicap and was the most inexperienced in the field. Peter Fahey, confirmed the instructions given and expressed his satisfaction with the ride. He stated that his charge has plenty of ability, but is not a natural jumper which cost him ground today and on other occasions in the past.
