In rear, some late headway from 2 out, never nearer (jockey said, regarding stewards enquiry into running and riding of gelding, his instructions were to jump off behind as his mount can be very free and also a nervous type. He felt there was a very slow pace early on and when the race quickened his mount was unable to go with them but stayed on one pace in the straight. trainer, confirmed the instructions, he also added that his horse has had a number of problems and been difficult to keep sound, he feels that he stays well but today was his first race and on very testing ground, he feels he would also be expected to improve) (op 40/1 tchd 50/1)
Reared and unseated rider before start, on toes beforehand, towards rear throughout, no impression after 3 out, never a factor (jockey said gelding reared up at the start)
