Ducked right start and bumped rival start, disputed lead, tracked leader soon after start, pushed along disputing lead from over 1f out, slightly hampered 1f out, soon no chance with winner (op 13/8)
Ducked left start and bumped rival start, disputed lead, led clearly soon after start, pushed along over 2f out, ridden when joined from over 1f out, outpaced inside final furlong (op 11/2 tchd 8/1)
Bumped start, in rear, pushed along but no impression from 2f out (inquiry held into running and riding of filly which was bumped leaving the stalls and settled towards the rear of the field early on, before then appearing to be negatively ridden and become partially detached in the back straight until being asked for an effort in the final 2f to stay on evenly and finish eighth of ten runners, beaten by 22 1/4 lengths; vet reported that two post-race examinations revealed no clinical abnormalities other than filly presented with a wide gait behind; jockey stated that his instructions were to jump out and obtain cover on filly enabling her to relax as she was known to be both a strong and nervous type at home; he added that he suffered interference leaving the stalls and had steadied his mount going into the first bend to ensure filly settled but she raced keenly and awkwardly throughout, particularly on the bend; he added that he was intent on keeping filly balanced and, considering her unusual gait, he had not wanted to make more of an effort other than audibly clicking her along as he was worried she would become further unbalanced; he further added that when filly was asked for her finishing effort approaching the home turn, she failed to quicken appreciably and only passed weakening runners in home straight despite him using whip on one occasion; trainer's rep confirmed instructions and that filly was known to be keen; however whilst noting filly was hampered leaving the stalls, trainer considered that jockey should have made greater effort to remain competitive in the middle stages and not dropped so far off the main division of runners) (op 40/1)
