Jack Channon continued his red-hot form at the track this year when Medinilla struck in the opening 6f maiden.

The daughter of Rumble Inthejungle looked in trouble at halfway but managed to get her act together to win by half a length under Edward Greatrex.

She was Channon's only runner at the track's final meeting of the year and the trainer ended up with a terrific 38 per cent strike-rate there in 2024, with three of his eight runners scoring.

Greatrex told Sky Sports Racing: "I liked her the first time and she's come on a tremendous amount at home. If she handled the track I was fairly confident she'd run well. If you hit one ridge here, you hit all of them.

"We didn't get into the flow until the last furlong, so you can only be pleased. They've done well to nurture her to this point as next year is when she'll flourish."

Medinilla also continued Greatrex's fine form, with the rider operating at a 22 per cent strike-rate in the last fortnight.

Davidson delight

Tristan Davidson's strong record at the track continued with Our Absent Friends in the 5f handicap.

The six-year-old's head win means Davidson is operating at a 33 per cent strike-rate at the North Yorkshire venue in his training career.

Track specialist

Eldeyaar made it two course-and-distance wins from three starts at the track when impressively landing the first division of the 6f handicap.
