Ado McGuinness and Dooley Thoroughbreds teamed up for a double as Colin Keane steered 11-10 favourite Apache Outlaw to success in the 6f handicap before Adam Caffrey partnered Tribal Star to get off the mark in the 1m4f maiden.

Apache Outlaw was landing his third win at the track and fifth overall when overhauling stablemate Dontspoilasale to score by three-quarters of a length. The four-year-old had been holding his form well on the turf all year, including when scoring at the Curragh last month, and made a seamless return to the all-weather.

McGuinness said: "He's improved plenty and is an out-and-out sprinter who enjoys a fast pace. We might come back for the all-weather finals at Newcastle."

Tribal Star followed up for connections an hour later when getting off the mark at the sixth attempt having finished third at the track over a shorter trip 12 days ago.

The 5-2 shot disputed the lead throughout and repelled a strong challenge from Inthesmallhours.

Carroll and Cromwell double

Gavin Cromwell and jockey Gary Carroll teamed up for a 40-1 double after Clarita bolted up in the 7f handicap and Pepper Noir finished off the day in style for the pair in the 1m4f handicap.

Clarita landed her maiden over the same course and distance in December and showed her liking for the surface again when coming with a run to hunt down Mehman in the closing stages and go on to score by a length and three-quarters at odds of 8-1.

Pepper Noir was also landing her second success at the track, relishing the step up in trip to score by half a length over Tudor Manor at 5-1.
