Charyn on target for Japan swansong as Roger Varian hails top miler's 'unbelievable constitution'
Charyn, who capped a fabulous season in Europe with victory in the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes at Ascot, is on target to bid for a glorious farewell to the racecourse in Japan next month having seemingly taken Saturday's exertions in his stride.
Blessed with an iron constitution, Charyn's season started at Doncaster back in March and his seven runs in 2024 include three wins at the highest level. Despite his busy schedule, the Roger Varian-trained four-year-old continues to thrive and travel plans are taking shape for a tilt at the Mile Championship at Kyoto racecourse on November 17.
"Charyn has come out of Ascot really well," said Varian on Monday. "Obviously he's not done much yet but he's come out of the race in good shape. He has an unbelievable constitution and, along with ability, that's exactly what we want in racehorses.
