Warwick and Thurles have passed inspections for this afternoon's jumps meeting after a frost-free night.

Temperatures dipped to -3C at Warwick but are set to reach 0C at 9am and 2C at 11am.

It could peak at 4C during the meeting, with the first race at 12.23. The going is good to soft, soft in places.

Clerk of the course Nessie Chanter said: "We were expecting temperatures to drop further so it was a surprise to see the frost had not got into the ground. We had covered the vulnerable areas overnight and we're racing on fresh ground where possible.

"Jockeys felt it rode slightly slower than it walked yesterday and the moisture from the snow sat on the top of the surface. I expect it will be pretty tacky today and quite hard work."

There was the potential for snow and ice at Thurles overnight but the track has been passed fit for racing. The going is good.

Clerk of the course Lorcan Wyer said: "There is a light dusting of snow but importantly the track is currently frost free.

"The Status Orange weather warning for snow and ice is in place until midday according to Met Eireann so we will continue to monitor the situation but at the moment we are fit to race."
