Nap of the day: best horse racing tips for the day's six meetings

Wednesday's best bets from the Racing Post's unbeatable Spotlights team . . .

Bath

2.02: Soldiers Design

Wrestling Revenue (second choice) and Smooth Silesie have enjoyed productive summers and can feature prominently, but Soldiers Design ran creditably against some seasoned handicappers at Sandown last week and she benefits from Sean D Bowen's valuable 3lb claim. Paul Smith

Hamilton

6.15: Game Breaker

A number of Hamilton regulars are in attendance here, among them Rock Melody, Lady Celia and last year's winner Iris Dancer. However, of even more interest could be the Rebecca Menzies-trained Game Breaker who looks to be coming to the boil and is well treated on soft-ground form for Ralph Beckett last season. Fellow 3yo Mostar Dreams arrives in top form and may pose the main threat. Richard O'Brien

Kempton

9.00: Havana Touch

A few possibles, notably Aljezur, Flag Carrier and Sustained (second choice), but Havana Touch may well be the answer. The form of his Chelmsford nursery win worked out well and his latest C&D second, when drawing clear with the winner in a good time, offered hope of better. He's up 4lb but can make light of the rise. Paul Smith

Kilbeggan

3.45: Leading Lion

Two of the younger generation may dominate. Last week's Bellewstown scorer Leading Lion is tipped to defy a 10lb rise in the ratings by accounting for Churchwarden who has run well at this venue and now contests his first handicap. Arcland may take a minor share of the money. Alan Sweetman

Lingfield

2.10: Red Cloud

The three leading contenders are fitted with an aid for the first time. Failing after trading at 1.2 and 1.04 in running the last twice shouldn't be held against Red Cloud and he has the tactical speed to cope with what is likely to be a messy race. Sea La Venus is surely better than we've seen to date. Andrew Cooper

Southwell

5.03: Miakoda

This looks tricky, with a few of these open to progress now making their nursery and/or AW debuts. Kensington Hope, Tutu Star and Harvesting are but three who fall into that category, but the vote goes to Miakoda who faced a stiff task when a well-held third in a Newmarket novice last time. His sire has a fine record here and the return to this trip should suit. David Bellingham
