Tom Collins analyses the credentials of four short-priced favourites in the US

Cask
7.00 Tampa Bay Downs
SP forecast 2-1

Three-year-old gelding who hasn't finished in the places in any of his six career starts. Isn't a bad worker in the mornings and trainer Michael Stidham, who has had 29 winners from 106 winners (27 per cent strike-rate) here this meet, only dropped him into maiden claiming company last time.

Conclusion This is his easiest task and he's drawn well. Likely winner.

Jollyville
8.45 Will Rogers Downs
SP forecast 2-1

Drawn in gate ten of ten, Francisco Bravo's Jollyville will make her third career start at the age of five. She showed little on debut over six furlongs but improved last time when upped to a mile. That piece of form makes her the one to beat in this field.

Conclusion Much prefer Scott E Young's Juliard Honor. Lay.

Amangalla
10.00 Tampa Bay Downs
SP forecast 2-1

Homebred four-year-old gelding who will make his first start in this maiden claimer, which is set to be run over a mile on the turf. Clearly had some issues as he started breezing back in July 2018 but hasn't made it to the track until now. Represents good connections, though, and has had his work stepped up in the last month.

Conclusion Could be anything but I'll lay him first time up from a wide draw.

Fayette Warrior
11.45 Will Rogers Downs
SP forecast 9-5

Oaklawn Park winner in February, Fayette Warrior is in the form of his life at the moment and has been running consistently well without a victory in two starts at Will Rogers. Drops back in grade but also down to sprint trips having competed at a mile recently.

Conclusion This distance isn't guaranteed to suit so looks one to avoid.
