Liverpool's squad looks too weak to hang on to title

Former Manchester City striker Paul Dickov discusses the Premier League's big talking points

Would Gareth Bale be a success back in the Premier League?

He would give Spurs a lift on and off the pitch and he is a fantastic player and has had a fantastic career at Real Madrid. The impact he has on the Welsh squad shows you he remains professional, but the Premier League is physically so different to La Liga.

Can his body handle it? I have my doubts whether he can cope with the demands.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's new contract at Arsenal

It was always going to happen. I know Mikel Arteta from his time at Manchester City and he is such a strong character, much like Pep Guardiola - there was no way Aubameyang would have started the Community Shield or Premier League opener had he been wanting to leave.

It's a fantastic re-signing for Arsenal - Aubameyang gives them goals and by all accounts he is also the dressing-room leader, a real talisman for the club.

Who will win the Premier League title?

My old club City will have the bit between their teeth. I saw Kevin De Bruyne on the golf course recently, just after the Lyon defeat in the Champions League, and we had a quick chat and he was saying he couldn't wait to put things right. That is City's attitude going into this season.

I also don't think Liverpool's squad is strong enough. They have a fantastic 11 but have been very lucky with injuries and, just as City couldn't cope with losing Aymeric Laporte, it would be the same for Liverpool and Virgil van Dijk, who is the best centre-back in Europe.

I believe Nathan Ake is a really good signing for City and Ferran Torres is such an exciting player. I don't want to put too much pressure on him but he has a combination of the pace of Leroy Sane and the dribbling ability of Bernardo Silva. He will be a fantastic signing and I fancy there are a couple more to come.
