Jack Draper vs Alex de Minaur predictions

It's day two of the US Open quarter-finals on Wednesday and Jack Draper has a great opportunity to surge into the last four of the men's singles with a first victory over Alex de Minaur.

Australian De Minaur leads the Briton 3-0 in career meetings, but Draper has been competitive in all three of those clashes and considering the way he has been performing in New York City, he could claim his first success in their personal series.

Draper, 22, has yet to drop a set at Flushing Meadows this year, but that's not too surprising considering the promise he showed in the Big Apple last season when he bowed out in the last 16.

This year in the final Grand Slam tournament of the campaign, his biggest scalps include the promising Zhizhen Zhang and Botic van de Zandschulp, the conqueror of Wimbledon and French Open champion Carlos Alcaraz.

De Minaur, 25, is still improving but the Sydneysider is not blessed with the power that many of his fellow ATP Tour luminaries possess. And in a sport in which physical strength is often a major weapon, he is at an immediate disadvantage on court.

Jannik Sinner vs Daniil Medvedev predictions

Both of these players are performing either at or near the top of their game so we could see a close tussle.

However, top seed and title favourite Jannik Sinner did well to dig deep and defeat Tommy Paul in straight sets in the last 16 and the Australian Open champion may also be able to dominate 2021 US Open hero Daniil Medvedev.

The Italian could win in straight sets but considering Medvedev's ability and form – both players have dropped only one set in the competition - backing the world number one to win in four or five appeals more.

Iga Swiatek vs Jessica Pegula predictions

Jessica Pegula won only one game in her last match against Iga Swiatek in the weather-affected WTA Finals in Cancun last year, but the American has stepped up her game significantly this year and she has never looked stronger on court.

Since June Pegula, 30, has won the Berlin title on grass, the WTA 1000 Toronto title on hard courts and then lost in the final of the WTA 1000 Cincinnati to Aryna Sabalenka.

The Buffalo native trails Swiatek 6-2 in their series, but she had beaten the Pole in their previous clash in Montreal in August 2023 and could make a fight of it in her home state, so going over the total games may be prudent.

Beatriz Haddad Maia vs Karolina Muchova predictions

Karolina Muchova is all the rage to win this one after requiring only eight sets to reach the last eight.

But while she may well prevail, her price of 4-9 is a little short it would be wrong to dismiss the claims of Beatriz Haddad Maia.

Both women are in fine form and while Muchova has won all three of their previous meetings relatively comfortably, the Brazilian may be playing well enough to make life tougher for her Czech opponent, so go over the total games.
