Australian Open 2025: Schedule, draw, seedings, how to watch and betting odds

The first major sporting event of 2025, the Australian Open, takes place at Melbourne Park where Jannik Sinner and Aryna Sabalenka will put the titles they won last year on the line.

Andy Murray was a Melbourne runner-up on five occasions and the British legend is back down under – but not as a player. Murray will be in the coaching box of long-time foe and ten-time Aussie Open king Novak Djokovic as the Serb bids for a record-breaking 25th Grand Slam crown.

British interest on the court comes in the shape of men's 15th seed Jack Draper, who reached the US Open semi-finals at the end of last year, Katie Boulter, who is seeded 22nd in the women's draw, and former US Open heroine Emma Raducanu.

When is the Australian Open 2025?

Qualifying for this year's Australian Open began on Monday, January 6 and the the main draw will commence on Sunday, January 12 and concludes on Sunday, January 26.

Melbourne Park, which has hosted the Australian Open since 1988, is the venue for the the first Grand Slam of the year and the men's and women's singles finals will be held on the iconic Rod Laver Arena.

The Australian Open will be shown live to audiences in the UK and Ireland on Eurosport and Discovery+.

Australian Open 2025 prize money

Prize money at this year's Australian Open has increased by almost 12 per cent this year to record levels in 2025.

A total fund of A$95.5 million (over £48m) is on offer at Melbourne Park and the winner of each single's tournament will bank A$3.5m (around £1.74m).
