Real Madrid v Sevilla

Although they are in contention for the title and have only one La Liga defeat to their name this term, it feels like something is missing at Sevilla and it seems that is a sentiment shared by sporting director Monchi, who said earlier this month the club will be ambitious in the January window.

They trail pacesetters Real Madrid by two points going into Sunday's clash at the Santiago Bernabeu but the gap feels bigger and Sevilla will not be helped in this contest by a string of potential absences.

Youssef En-Nesyri and Jesus Navas will once again both miss out while there are doubts surrounding defensive pair Jules Kounde and Diego Carlos.

That only enhances the appeal about backing a win for Real Madrid, who extended their winning streak in all competitions to five games with a 3-0 thumping of Sheriff Tiraspol on Wednesday.

The title race is starting to take shape and Real can send out a message to the rest of the division with a victory.

Napoli v Lazio

Napoli have led the way in Serie A pretty much all season but they must be careful to ensure last week's loss to Inter and their midweek Europa League reverse to Spartak Moscow do not start a losing streak.

They pushed Inter close in that 3-2 defeat and they were missing key trio Fabian, Victor Osimhen and Lorenzo Insigne for Wednesday's loss in Russia.

The good news for the Naples side is Insigne and Fabian are back in training and should be involved against Lazio, who themselves have won only four of their previous 11 Serie A matches.

All of those wins came at their Stadio Olimpico home and Lazio do not travel well, winning once in six away league fixtures this campaign.

Napoli have shown they are among Italy's best this season and they can get back on track with victory at the Stadio Diego Maradona.

Lorient v Rennes

Rennes have been one of the most exciting teams to watch in Ligue 1 this term and that point was emphasised by their pulsating 3-3 draw with Vitesse on Thursday.

But while that game was great for neutral spectators, it will have felt like a defeat for the French side, who had led 3-1 with just over 15 minutes remaining.

Against Lorient, though, they can return to winning ways, having won eight of their last ten matches in all competitions.

Gaetan Laborde has proven to be an excellent addition, bagging a hat-trick on Thursday, and opponents Lorient have won only three of their 14 league fixtures this campaign.
