Zhou Yuelong ready to dethrone king of Scotland Marco Fu
Chinese teenager is scoring better than Hong Kong ace
Third round
Eurosport 1, 1pm & 7pm Wednesday
Zhou Yuelong looks to be playing well enough to dump the reigning Scottish Open champion Marco Fu out of the Glasgow tournament at the third-round stage.
Zhou saw off Yu Delu 4-2 in the last 64 with the aid of breaks of 76, 104 and 56.
Fu ousted Fang Xiongman, an inferior performer to Zhou, 4-2 but with the exception of a couple of breaks in the 60s in what proved to be the final frame, the Hong Kong ace broke down three times in the 40s earlier in the match.
Xiao Guodong added to his fine record against Noppon Saengkham in the Betway UK Championship earlier this month, but the Thai may be playing well enough to force a close match on this occasion. Punters can also consider supporting Saengkham in the highest breakmaker market.
Ashley Hugill is making the most of a decent draw in Scotland and the Yorkshireman could provide his fellow Northerner Peter Lines with a tough test.
Recommendation
Zhou Yuelong
