Masters predictions

Neil Robertson vs Shaun Murphy predictions

Neil Robertson and Shaun Murphy meet in a clash of two former world champions in the Masters quarter-finals.

Robertson gained an invite to Alexandra Palace only because of Ronnie O’Sullivan’s withdrawal, but the Australian has grasped his opportunity, beating John Higgins 6-5 in round one.

The Australian ace compiled breaks of 57, 63, 80 and 118 to come back from the brink to beat Higgins – he was 5-1 down at one stage – in an impressive display of break-building and determination from the two-time Masters champion.

Robertson won his first ranking event title in two years at September's English Open and the resurgent Aussie looks a worthy favourite against Murphy.

Mark Allen vs Mark Selby predictions

Mark Selby was mightily impressive in a 6-1 rout of Ali Carter in the first round so there will be plenty of punters wanting to back the Jester from Leicester against Mark Allen.

However, the Pistol is likely to be far more willing and competitive in the safety exchanges, tempering enthusiasm about taking the 8-11 on offer about a Selby success.
