Saturday's Premiership rugby predictions

The Premiership's derby weekend continues with three games on Saturday, including Bath aiming to bounce back away at Gloucester.

Johann van Graan's visitors were undone by Bristol last weekend. Ironically, the Bears are the only team the Cherry & Whites have beaten and that 44-41 triumph sandwiched between a 35-26 loss to Saracens and a 31-27 defeat at Sale shows they know how to make games competitive.

Bath have won the last three meetings and after winning 20-15 at Leicester Tigers in September, can sneak another away victory.

The Tigers responded to their defeat to Bath by beating Newcastle 42-10 and have captain Julian Montoya and two-time World Cup-winning fly-half Handre Pollard back for Northampton's visit in the late game.

Montoya and Pollard's efforts will further strengthen a defence who have conceded only six tries in three games this season.

In contrast, the Saints have let in 12 tries across their trio of outings and that lack of edge when not in control of the ball could lead to the Welford Road faithful witnessing a tight home victory.

Saturday's remaining contest is between Exeter and Bristol at 3pm. The Chiefs' young squad looked on to something last term but have lost their three games this season, albeit against classy opponents.

Bristol will be without September's Premiership Player of the Month, Max Malins, due to a knee injury, but Pat Lam's side still looks strong, and they can claim an eighth consecutive away win.
