Saturday's Premiership predictions

There is a heavyweight clash to look forward to on Saturday as Saracens and Leicester, both with four wins and just one defeat to their names this season, do battle at the StoneX Stadium.

Both teams are missing their England players but Sarries look to be hit harder, especially as Kiwi fly-half Fergus Burke is one of a number of injury absentees.

Alex Goode again wears the number ten shirt but Alex Lozowski, who took on the goalkicking duties against Bristol last week and hit seven out of seven including a last-minute penalty to win the game, is with the England squad.

It could come down to fine margins against a Leicester side that boasts the best defence in the Premiership, having conceded just 78 points and 11 tries in five matches.

The Tigers have five players away with England including scrum-half Jack van Poortvliet and full-back Freddie Steward. But Springbok fly-half Handre Pollard lines up and there is still plenty of strength in the pack. The visitors can make the most of a six-point start.

The earlier TV game is a tough one to call as Sale head to Bath.

The Sharks have lost both their away games heavily, at Saracens and Northampton, and Bath stack up as similar-grade opposition.

Bath are not as hard hit as other teams in terms of England players missing and can still call on Scotland fly-half Finn Russell, but a 12-point handicap still looks hard to assess.

Gloucester look set for a second win of the season at home to Newcastle, but a double-figure handicap is off-putting.
