South Africa vs New Zealand predictions

Last week's Johannesburg clash between these two giants of Test rugby did not disappoint and, despite going down 31-27, New Zealand can take plenty of positives from their performance.

The All Black set-piece stood up well, they scored the first try just seven minutes in, showed some enterprising attacking play throughout and led by ten points with 15 minutes to go.

The depth of the Springbok squad, the strength of their bench and probably the draining conditions of playing at altitude proved telling in the end, but the balance looks different this week.

South Africa coach Rassie Erasmus has made nine changes to his matchday squad, and while last week he had a bench stacked with experience including two-time World Cup winners Eben Etzebeth and Handre Pollard, and those players start this time.

New Zealand have made tweaks of their own, with Beauden Barrett starting on the bench and Cortez Ratima coming in at scrum-half, but Damian McKenzie continues at number ten and the All Blacks look to have a dangerous attacking edge. They can make another close battle of it in Cape Town.

Argentina vs Australia predictions

Australia grabbed their first win of the Rugby Championship in Argentina last week but Los Pumas will probably feel they let themselves down having had a good grip on most of the game.

Rainy conditions didn't help either team find any fluency and we may be in for another disjointed display in Santa Fe.

Both teams have had to change fly-halves – Tomas Albornoz comes in for Santiago Carreras for Los Pumas while Noah Lolesio is ruled out for the visitors so Ben Donaldson starts.

The breakdown was a key battle area in La Plata and Australia know they have to again go toe to toe with a tough home pack who will be even more fired up following last week's defeat.

Dry conditions are forecast but Australia have struggled to put points on the board this year while Argentina may choose to focus on the forward battle so this may not be a high-scoring affair.
