Wales vs South Africa predictions

Wales are in crisis after losing 11 consecutive matches and their situation is unlikely to improve when world champions South Africa visit the Principality Stadium.

Having just been thumped 52-20 by an Australia side that finished bottom of the 2024 Rugby Championship table, Warren Gatland’s men are 27-point underdogs against the Springboks, who won the Southern Hemisphere tournament earlier this year, before subsequently beating Scotland and England.

The margin of last weekend's defeat was embarrassing for Wales, particularly when considering that Australia centre Samu Kerevi was shown a red card early in the second half for a dangerous tackle, a dismissal which had no bearing on the outcome as a fragile home defence proved unable to stop the Wallabies from running riot.

Australia were able to punch holes through the Welsh ranks at will and, with the phenomenal ball carriers at South Africa's disposal, the mighty Springboks look capable of covering the sizeable handicap.

Ireland vs Fiji predictions

Ireland are set for their penultimate match of the autumn as they prepare to host a dangerous Fiji outfit before next weekend’s clash with Australia.

Andy Farrell’s men have failed to hit top gear, losing 23-13 to New Zealand before producing a less-than-convincing 22-19 win over Argentina last time out.

Ireland make seven changes for this Aviva Stadium clash and Fiji will look to pile early pressure on the new combinations, especially the Irish half-backs.

Leinster fly-half Sam Prendergast is making his first start for Ireland and both he and Munster scrum-half Craig Casey should expect plenty of attention from their opponents.

Fiji will have taken great confidence from their win over Wales in Cardiff earlier this month and, while they might fall short in causing a major upset at the home of the reigning Six Nations champions, the Pacific Islanders can make this a tighter contest than some might predict.
