Northampton vs Bath predictions

Northampton beat Bath in last season’s final to claim the Premiership title but have struggled to maintain those standards and could be vulnerable when the teams meet on Sunday.

Bath got their revenge on the opening day of the season with a 38-16 home win and have lost just one league game since.

The Saints stopped the rot of three straight defeats with a big win over Newcastle last week but face a much sterner test against table-topping Bath, who put Sarries to the sword last weekend.

Bath carry a huge attacking threat with Ollie Lawrence and Joe Cokanasiga in a backline marshalled by Finn Russell, and although Northampton won to nil against Newcastle, they shipped 13 tries in their previous three defeats.

Northampton’s slow start was understandable as they lost some key players over the summer and started the season with England scrum-half Alex Mitchell injured, so they should pick up the pace, but they look too short at odds-on in this clash.
