Exeter vs Gloucester predictions

It seems incredible that former English and European champions Exeter are still to win in either the Premiership or Champions Cup this season and another defeat beckons in their final game of 2024.

Visitors Gloucester travel a couple of hours down the M5 chasing a fourth straight league victory after becoming the first team to keep Harlequins scoreless since 2014 in last Friday's 14-0 home triumph.

However, defending so well isn't usually their style, especially away from Kingsholm. They have conceded 26 or more points in three of their four on the road but Exeter have also scored the fewest points of any team at home.

Rob Baxter has taken to publicly challenging his players to improve but with little success, while injuries are also not aiding the Devonians. England winger Immanuel Feyi-Waboso faces an extended spell on the sidelines after dislocating his shoulder in the Chiefs' 28-10 pre-Christmas defeat at Sale.

The Cherry and Whites could be the latest team to take advantage and, although far from perfect without the ball, they can be stunning when they get on the front foot.

Summer arrivals Tomos Williams and Gareth Anscombe are among the Premiership's best half-back combinations and should be able to set the tone against Stu Townsend and an out-of-sorts Henry Slade.

Gloucester have already won away at Bristol and champions Northampton this season and George Skivington's side can strike again at Sandy Park.
