Australia vs New Zealand predictions

Both these teams are smarting from defeats in round four of the Rugby Championship but New Zealand look far better placed to bounce back with a convincing win in this Bledisloe Cup clash in Sydney.

The All Blacks suffered back-to-back defeats in South Africa, losing by five and six points, and know they are pretty much out of the running for the Rugby Championship title.

However, the Bledisloe Cup is a target of its own for New Zealand against their trans-Tasman rivals. It's a trophy they have held since 2002 and they will be fully focused on victory.

The All Blacks are boosted by the return from injury of prop Ethan de Groot and winger Caleb Clarke and have named a strong side, with Damian McKenzie again at fly-half and Beauden Barrett at full-back.

Australia have made sweeping changes following their 67-27 defeat in Argentina a fortnight ago.

Nic White and Noah Lolesio are the starting halfbacks in place of Jake Gordon and Ben Donaldson, who aren't even on the bench. Confidence looks set to be low and if New Zealand can keep up their run of fast starts, they should ease to a comfortable win.

The All Blacks have won nine of their last ten meetings with Australia, seven of those by a double-figure margin.
