Match preview

Greece are pitching up at a Rugby League World Cup for the first time but the Titans could be cut down to size by France at the Keepmoat Stadium in Doncaster.

With just four recognised players among their ranks it could be a long night for the debutants, who face a French outfit made up mainly of Betfred Super League stars from Catalans Dragons and Toulouse Olympique, and the minnows look severely undercooked.

Greece have played just once since qualifying in 2019, a 34-34 draw with Championship side Bradford last week, while France won the 2018 European Championship featuring Scotland, Ireland and Wales to qualify for this tournament.

Les Bleus averaged just over 35 points per game in that competition so a 24-point handicap looks well within reach here and a Greek tragedy looks set to unfold in south Yorkshire.
