Wigan Warriors vs Leigh Leopards predictions

Defending champions Wigan Warriors are 160 minutes away from back-to-back Betfred Super League titles and can book their place in next Saturday's Grand Final with a win over Leigh Leopards.

Hull KR or Warrington Wolves will await the winner of the second semi-final at Old Trafford and it is hard to see anyone other than Wigan progressing to the title-decider.

The Warriors have won all three trophies available to them this season and they can edge closer to keeping their Super League crown locked away alongside the World Club Challenge trophy, Challenge Cup and League Leaders' Shield.

Leigh have reached the final for for the first time but the Warriors are old hands at getting to this stage and will be confident of more success as they take aim at the quadruple.

The Leopards won last season's Challenge Cup final at Wembley so do have some experience of such a big occasion. But this looks a step too far and their campaign could be brought to an end by their seasoned rivals.

Wigan have won their last 15 home fixtures against Leigh and they have had a week off to prepare for Saturday's semi-final showdown, having finished top of the regular-season standings.

Leigh were forced to battle past Salford in a closely-fought eliminator last week and they are in great form having won ten of their last 12 Super League fixtures.

However, they don't come any tougher than this and Wigan are on a five-match winning streak, which includes victories in their final two regular-season matches by an aggregate 112-0.

All of the pair's three meetings in 2024 have fallen the way of the Cherry & Whites, who have handed out some pastings along the way.

Wigan have won their last seven home meetings with Leigh by margins of 22, 18, 26, 44, 20, 50 and 56 points, so a 12-point handicap looks well within reach for the defending champions.

But not only have they put points on the Leopards with relative ease, they have defended well in this fixture too, with their local rivals managing no more than 12 points in any of their last four meetings with Wigan.
