Saturday's Betfred Super League predictions

Wigan Warriors should be able to improve their chances of retaining their League Leaders' Shield crown when they travel to Perpignan to take on Catalans Dragons.

The Cherry and Whites were level with Hull KR at the top of the Super League table before Friday's matches, and while they could be two points behind the Robins by the time they kick off in France, they are in the driving seat for the trophy.

Wigan host KR next week, but for now, their focus will be on a trip to Stade Gilbert Brutus, a ground that teams are no longer as worried about visiting.

Matty Peet's side won 34-0 on their last visit to Perpignan despite the searing heat, and conditions will be similar for this encounter.

Catalans have lost four of their previous six matches in Super League, failing to score more than 18 points in all of those defeats.

Wigan will welcome Bevan French back into their ranks and his partnership with Jai Field should cause Steve McNamara's men numerous problems.

Catalans have lacked direction and look nervous with several teams breathing down their necks in the race for the playoffs, and Wigan should punish them ahead of next week's potential League Leaders' Shield decider.
