Houston Texans at Kansas City Chiefs predictions

Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes is not only one of the best players in the NFL, he also appears to be indestructible and is expected to start against the Houston Texans just six days after limping off the field against the Browns with what looked like a significant ankle injury.

Mahomes has taken part in practice all week, so there seems no need for the Chiefs to deploy back-up Carson Wentz. The Chiefs are 13-1 for the season and have already clinched the AFC West for a ninth successive season, but they are still fighting for the number one seed in the AFC.

The Texans have a 9-5 record and have also won their division, the AFC South, but they have not been convincing in recent weeks. They are 3-3 in their last six games with losses to poor Jets and Titans teams and their offensive line has allowed the fifth-most sacks in the NFL.

The Chiefs defence should have plenty of success limiting visiting quarterback CJ Stroud and running back Joe Mixon, who has been great this season but had only 12 carries for 23 yards in last week's 20-12 win over the Dolphins.

Pittsburgh Steelers at Baltimore Ravens predictions

The AFC North title could be decided by Saturday's showdown between the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Baltimore Ravens.

The Steelers' 10-4 record puts them just ahead of the 9-5 Ravens after they won the teams' first meeting 18-16 at home in Week 11 despite not scoring a touchdown.

The Ravens have lost four straight games against their rivals and star quarterback Lamar Jackson is just 1-4 in his starts against the Steelers with only five touchdown passes and eight interceptions.

The Steelers have not been consistent on offence and will be missing their top wide receiver George Pickens due to injury. While the Steelers are getting a big handicap start for a team who had not lost by more than five points until running into the 12-2 Eagles last week, the best bet on the game looks to be going under on total points.

Pittsburgh should look to run the ball often, eating up the clock in order to shorten the game while looking for QB Russell Wilson to succeed with occasional deep passes against the Ravens secondary.

The Steelers averaged just 4.3 yards per play without Pickens against the Browns and managed just 163 total yards and four yards per play against the Eagles.

While Jackson has had a great year against most teams, he was held to just 207 passing yards in the first meeting and Baltimore’s offense had three turnovers.
