This week's NFL TV game predictions

Miami Dolphins at Houston Texans predictions

The Houston Texans have a point to prove as they return from their bye in Week 15. DeMeco Ryans' team are still top of the AFC South with an 8-5 record, but they have struggled in recent weeks.

Houston have lost four of their last seven games, including shock defeats to the New York Jets and Tennessee Titans.

With the Indianapolis Colts just two wins behind them, the Texans cannot afford to take their foot off the gas and they are sure to be fired-up after a break.

A return to the NRG Stadium should also help Houston's chances, and they face a Miami defence who are second-to-last in the NFL in sacks with 24. Houston quarterback CJ Stroud has regressed since his stunning rookie campaign, but if he is given time to pass, he can punish the Dolphins.

Miami have improved since QB Tua Tagovailoa returned from a concussion, but they could only beat the Jets in overtime last week. The Fins are 2-4 on their travels and they will do well to push the Texans close.

Buffalo Bills at Detroit Lions predictions

The Week 15s schedule is boosted by one of the most anticipated games of the season as the Detroit Lions host the Buffalo Bills at Ford Field.

The Bills fell to a 44-42 defeat to the Los Angeles Rams last Sunday, with their offence doing everything they could to record an eighth-straight victory.

Quarterback Josh Allen is the favourite to win the regular-season MVP award, but he will face an aggressive Lions defence this weekend. Detroit have the third-highest blitz rate in the NFL, but Allen has thrown 14 touchdowns and only two interceptions against the blitz this season.

Allen has excelled against man coverage all year, which is primarily what the Lions operate, and he is so dangerous on the ground as a runner.

Buffalo know it will be nearly impossible to stop the Detroit offence, with the Lions having won 11 consecutive games.

Dan Campbell's team dominate on the ground and through the air, but if the Bills can force any turnovers, they will usually score points thanks to the brilliance of Allen. A mistake could be what decides this game between two of the best teams in the NFL, and the Bills look good value on the handicap.

Green Bay Packers at Seattle Seahawks predictions

A close game is expected as the Seattle Seahawks host the Green Bay Packers at Lumen Field.

The Packers dropped to 9-4 for the season after last week's 34-31 defeat to the Lions, but that is no reason to panic, considering the quality of their divisional rivals.

Green Bay had won three games in a row before that defeat, while Seattle have won their last four. The Seahawks' run has taken them to the top of the NFC West, but they have yet to make a statement with any of their wins.

Two of them came against the Arizona Cardinals, who have struggled lately, while they also beat the fading San Francisco 49ers and the Jets. Seattle deserve respect and they have been consistent with quarterback Geno Smith at the helm, but they don't yet have an eyecatching win on their schedule.

Seattle have struggled on the ground in recent weeks, while the Packers have twice narrowly lost to the Lions, but that is a positive sign. Detroit have outclassed most of their opponents, but the Packers have given them two good games.

As the season has progressed, the Packers have improved in nearly every department and running back Josh Jacobs is playing at a high level as a dual-threat back.

Green Bay's four defeats have all come against teams with winning records and they should be able to cover the spread on the road this week.

Tom Hill's Week 15 best bets

Best money line bet

Carolina Panthers
2pts 4-6 general

The Panthers are favourites to win this week for the first time in 34 games, which is a shock in itself. However, with the Dallas Cowboys in opposition, they can record their fourth victory of the season.

Dallas are weak defensively against the run, which is one of the few things that Carolina does well.

The Panthers have improved in recent weeks and with home advantage on their side, they can add a rare but welcome win to their record.

Best handicap bet

Washington Commanders -7.5
2pts 10-11 general

Washington come into Week 15 fresh after their bye week and that should help them to outclass the Saints.

New Orleans quarterback Derek Carr is not starting due to a hand injury, so the inexperienced Jake Haener takes over, and the Saints struggled without their starter earlier this season.

They are 0-6 against teams with winning records this year and the Commanders should record a comfortable success.

Best points bet

Under 40.5 points in New York Jets at Jacksonville Jaguars
3pts 10-11 general

Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers enjoyed his most prolific game of the season last week in the overtime defeat to the Dolphins, but he struggles against man coverage, something the Jaguars utilise often.

The Jags are without starting quarterback Trevor Lawrence, and they have scored ten or fewer points in three of their last four games.

Best prop bet

Tony Pollard over 64.5 rushing yards
2pts Evs bet365

Tennessee Titans running back Tony Pollard should feast on the Cincinnati Bengals defence.

Pollard has cleared over 100 rushing yards when carrying the ball more than 20 times on three consecutive occasions. If he is given the volume of touches he craves, Pollard has rewarded Tennessee and he is facing a Bengals team who have allowed 130.3 rushing yards per game.

Last week against the Cowboys, the Bengals allowed Rico Dowdle to rack up 141 rushing yards on 19 carries and Pollard could finish with similar numbers.
