Giants at Commanders preview

Divisional rivals New York and Washington couldn't be separate a fortnight ago when playing out a 20-20 draw and there's unlikely to be much between the duo when they renew hostilities in a crunch NFC East showdown.

The Giants have stumbled in recent weeks, failing to win any of their last four games, but they still retain the same ability, particularly on defence, that saw them start the season 6-1.

The Giants’ three most recent losses have come against the Lions, Cowboys and Eagles, who are three of the hottest teams in the entire NFL. There has been a lot of criticism directed at the Giants and quarterback Daniel Jones in recent weeks, causing some bookmakers to overreact and offer a bit of value.

Commanders quarterback Taylor Heinicke has looked to be going backwards and things could begin to drop off for Washington. They haven’t beaten anyone of note in recent weeks and haven’t been the hottest unit on offence.

The fact these teams looked so even in their draw two weeks ago makes it curious as to why the Commanders are deemed worthy of being 4.5-point favourites. The start for the Giants looks too big.
