The Philadelphia Eagles have dominated their hated divisional rivals from New York for the last 13 years, winning 20 of the last 26 meetings, but may have to work hard to keep up their record of success in a tight, low-scoring playoff encounter.

The Eagles swept the regular season series, running out convincing 48-22 winners in the Big Apple before being pushed hard by the Giants' back-ups in a 22-16 success in Week 18.

Philly quarterback Jalen Hurts didn’t look particularly sharp in the regular season finale on his return from a shoulder injury and even with an extra week of rest under his belt following the Eagles' bye through the first round of the postseason, concerns linger over his health.

Hurts completed only 57 per cent of his passes and rushed nine times for 13 yards in Week 18. He was also sacked three times. If Hurts can’t get back to his old self, then an Eagles offence who suffered without Hurts won’t find it easy to move the chains.

In contrast, the Giants make the short trip to the City of Brotherly Love fresh from their best game of the year in the Wild Card win over the Vikings as quarterback Daniel Jones made a huge statement

The key to the Giants offence this season has been their rushing attack - they won only two games this season when they failed to rush for at least 125 yards - but Jones showed against the Vikings that their passing game can be effective too.

Jones won’t find it as easy to move the ball through the air against the Eagles, who ranked number one at defending the pass. They also ranked number one in sacks this year and are sure to ask more questions of Jones than the Vikings did.

But Big Blue’s strong showing in Minnesota was a reminder, if one was needed, of how well coached the Giants are under Brian Daboll and how tough they play.

The Giants' defence held the Vikings' top-ten ranked offence in check last week and can play their part in a gritty fight to reach the NFC title game.
