Minnesota Vikings at LA Rams predictions

The Minnesota Vikings suffered their first loss of the season against the mighty Detroit Lions last weekend but there were plenty of positives to draw from that performance heading into their Week Eight trip to the LA Rams.

While the Lions have been steadily improving over the last few years and appear ready to take the NFC crown, Minnesota hung in with their NFC North rivals throughout the contest, losing 31-29 to a late field goal.

Considering how explosive the Lions are, that was an impressive effort for a Vikings squad who have only recently found success.

The Rams, meanwhile, won 20-15 against the hapless Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday but were far less impressive.

Despite coming off a bye week, LA gained just 259 yards against the Raiders' defence and did not find it easy to pull away, failing to cover a 7.5-point handicap.

Even with Vegas quarterback Gardner Minshew throwing three interceptions, the home team let a disorganised and volatile Raiders team chalk up 20 first downs and 317 yards.

While question marks remain over LA, the 5-1 Vikings have been performing to a high level all season and will be desperate to return to winning ways at the SoFi Stadium.

Six of the seven Thursday Night Football favourites have covered the handicap this season and it could pay to back Minnesota to do likewise.
