An early handicap line of around one touchdown for tonight’s clash between Green Bay and Minnesota has swiftly been hiked to more than double that mark following the news that Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins will miss the game after testing positive for Covid.

Sean Mannion will start in Cousins’ place at Lambeau Field, making Minnesota’s already difficult task even more challenging.

Green Bay have clinched NFC North honours and they have a chance of locking up the number one seeding in the conference should they beat the Vikings and other results go their way.

Aaron Rodgers and company have put themselves in a strong position with a 12-3 record and they have won their last four outings.

One of their three losses did come at Minnesota but that wasn’t at their Wisconsin fortress – the Packers are 7-0 at home – and the Vikings were much better and healthier than they are at present.

Vikings running back Dalvin Cook is back from Covid protocols, but they will be without receiver Adam Thielen for the rest of the season because of an ankle injury.

Minnesota are 2-3 in their last five games, which includes a loss to lowly Detroit. And they have not defeated a team currently with a winning record since that victory over the Packers in November.
